Affairs Officer Kelly Humphries.
For this investigation, a set
of soccer-ball-sized, free-flying satellites known as Synchronized
Position Hold, Engage, Reorient, Experimental Satellites, or SPHERES,
are equipped with ring-shaped hardware known as the Resonant Inductive
Near-field Generation System, or RINGS, to demonstrate how power can be
transferred between satellites without physical contact.
